Competitive Dance Crew Information 2020-2021

Parents and students, please consider the following before agreeing to this year’s Competitive Team.  We require 100% commitment from both the dancers and their parents

COMPETITIVE CREWS

All competitive crews will have 1 practice per week that will be 2 hours long. This practice is MANDATORY for all dancers.  You can find the competitive crew schedule here:

MEGACREW

This Megacrew is available for all competitive dancers 9 and up.  Students must be part of one of our existing competitive crews in order to be eligible to compete in this group.

This crew will compete at all the same competitions and perform at all 4 Remix Shows.  You can find the Megacrew schedule here:

SOLOS, DUETS & TRIOS

Solos, duets and trios are available for competitive dancers ages 7 and up.  Students must be part of one of our existing competitive crews in order to be eligible to compete in a solo, duet or trio number. You must notify the Dance Director before classes start if you are interested in participating in a solo, duet or trio.

If you were accepted to do a solo, duo or trio then each dancer needs to make an extra registration and select "Competitive - Solo" or "Competitive - Duo" or "Competitive - Trio". Register here:

REHEARSALS

All competitive dancers will have 4 MANDATORY rehearsals throughout the year:

1- Competitive General Rehearsal
(held a week or two before the first competition)

2- General Rehearsal #1
(held at the Salle Optimiste 2 weeks before the show)

3- General Rehearsal #2
(held at the Salle Optimiste 1 week before the show)

4- LIVE TO DANCE General Rehearsal
(held at the Salle Optimiste the week before the show)

ALL THESE DATES ARE AVAILABLE ON THE CALENDAR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.  THEREFORE, DANCERS  WILL HAVE NO REASON TO MISS ANY OF THESE REHEARSALS.  IF THE LOCATION OF THE PRACTICE BECOMES UNAVAILABLE FOR SOME REASON THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE MAY NEED TO MODIFY A DATE HERE AND THERE.  YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE IF THIS IS THE CASE.  

COMPETITIONS

All competitive dancers will have 3 MANDATORY COMPETITIONS throughout the year. You can find the exact schedule below:

All dancers on the team must be available and present for ALL 3 Competitions.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

PLEASE NOTE: 5678 Showtime has the possibility for groups to be choosen to compete at DANCE WORLD CUP.  We will only find this out at the end of the competition weekend.  This year DWC will be held at the Fairmont in Whistler, BC.  

PERFORMANCES

All Competitive dancers will have 3 MANDATORY PERFORMANCES throughout the year.

Performance #1 will be Family Day show
Performance #2 will be their own city show
Performance #3 will be at the LIVE TO DANCE SHOW 
All competitive dancers will be performing at the Live to Dance show! 

ALL REMIX SHOWS WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT THE SALLE OPTIMISTE IN ROCKLAND THIS YEAR!

All dancers on the team must be available and present for those 2 Performances.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

IMPORTANT - YOUR NEXT STEPS:

If you have agreed to all the info above, you will need to complete the following STEPS in order to confirm your spot on the team:

STEP 1:  Comment on the group page under my latest post that you have accepted to be on the team.   You can simply write "Student name accepts".  If for some reason, you don't accept, please be kind enough to send me a PRIVATE FACEBOOK MESSAGE so we can give your spot to someone else.  

STEP 2:  Go to our website and REGISTER for the 2019-2020 Competitive

STEP 3:  Make your payment.  You can pay online, send cheque or cheque(s) in the mail or bring your full payment at one of our registration sessions.  You can make up to 5 monthly installments.

ALL PAYMENTS AND POST-DATED CHEQUES MUST BE HANDED IN BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS!

Payments can be made:

Online - By using a credit card such as Visa or Mastercard

By mail - Send cheque or cheques to: Remix Dance, 145 Dorina Sarazin Cres, Rockland, ON, K4K 0G6.  You can make 1 cheque or 5 cheques dated Sept 1, Oct 1 & Nov 1, Dec 1, Jan1

YOU WILL NOT BE PART OF THE TEAM UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL 3 STEPS!
