Remix Dance Academy is seeking energetic and motivated individuals to supervise and mentor dance instructors as Regional Supervisors at various locations on a part-time basis during evenings and weekends.
Available locations:
Casselman, Embrun, Hawkesbury, Orléans (East), Ottawa (Alta Vista), Ottawa (Old Ottawa South), Clarence-Rockland.
Minimum qualifications:
Anyone who meets the following set of minimum criteria is encouraged to apply.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- At least 18 years of age with a valid SIN #.
- Minimum High School diploma required
- Open to Remix requesting a criminal police check.
- Available to work evenings and/or weekends in at least one of our locations.
Experience required:
- Dancing experience is not necessary.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Applicants with education, management, or supervisory experience will be given priority.
Duties include:
Based on agreed-to schedule with Dance Director, visit each dance location you are responsible for and complete the following items:
- Film for 3-5 min all the groups, watch and observe, fill in a report and get feedback from instructors, students and parents.
- Analyze instructor’s performance and provide feedback, guidance, training and encouragement in order to impact results.
- Send reports and videos to Dance Director no less than 1 day after visit.
- Give feedback from Dance Director back to the instructor by phone or in person
- Track payments owed and collect money owing to hand to the Dance Director
- Give handouts to instructors
- Answer operational questions and issues from parents, instructors and students
Other duties include:
- Maintain communication with Dance Director on a regular basis
- Assist in the developing of new operations procedures and policies
- Assist training department with new locations and ongoing training.
- Conduct and attend regional meetings for assigned regions
Hourly wage:
$20/hour
Amount of hours:
Approximately 3 hours per location every 2-3 weeks.
Selection process:
Qualified applications will be evaluated on the basis of related experience and quality of application. The most highly qualified applicants will be invited to an interview where the following skills will be assessed:
- Ability to Train other instructors according to RDA standards
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with professional and nonprofessional staff, clients and their families.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft applications.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required
- Ability to Analyze and think strategically
- Ability to work independently
- Basic understanding of physical health.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong observational skills
- Positive and encouraging.
- Maintain good and positive relationships with parents, students and co-workers.
Training:
Successful candidates will be invited to take the Remix Regional Supervisor Certification Training Program given by the Dance Director. Successful completion of this certification is required to become a Regional Supervisor.
